Funny Money

I just though about something when I deposited they check I got for $100 into my bank account. For starters I was told it might take 3 day's for the check to clear. No biggie. I did ask if they could check if the check was good. a few keystrokes and yes the check was good. it was drawn on "BoA" who were right next door to my bank. I tried to cash the check over there but because I am not a costumer the wanted $5.00 from me
I was not about to pay 5% to cash a check, didn't needed the money that bad. Anyway Icalled my friend that night and I was mentioning the bank policy of charging non costumer $5.00 to cash a check. He stated that he thought I had the money allready because it allready not available to him. so I logged into my account...Nope not in there yet.as a matter of fact it took the full 3 days to turn up in my account. Now I have a stupis question. Were did the money go? were did it spend the 3 day's as I said I could have walked over there in 3 minutes.
Money is earning interest so everybody is telling me, save it up and it will grow, well not my $100 for sure. It won't have enough time to breathe when it hits my account and the interest NOT earned in those 3 day's amount to $0.0123 Cents at 1.5% interest. So whats the big deal. Remember your grandpa telling you "a Penny saved is a Penny earned" Imagine this is not only MY $100.00, yours to and some other 2 million bank costumers at the same time. those $0.0123 turn into 24,600.00. Now were talking about real Money. pretty good company for my 100 dollar bill to keep don't you think? but now come the 60 million dollar question. Someone is paying this "extra Money" the one "holding" it hostage for 3 days? and if so
why doesn't he/she pay ME. its my money in the first place, my bank is just a custodian. They are Making money on my money when it is in my account. There is no physical contact with my check involved, Deposits are allways free.  so were is that xtra Penny

A Look at Healthcare Reform

Healthcare reform maybe now is time to chime in.

Do we need it? YES Can we pay for it? Probably not.

Right now it seems to be the topic everybody is discussing and disgusted about, there is no question in my mind that a healthcare reform is needed. Does that mean we need another “Plan”? Certainly not. We already have 3 government run programs and none of them is working. So you fix it by adding another one? I don’t think so. Us usual the government is run with the intend of moving money from one pocket into another in the same pair of pants and declaring by eliminating this and that they will save money. Unfortunately moving coins around everybody knows there will be sooner or later Holes in those pockets, and nothing is saved
About the Death Panel? There is none. Of course politicians can’t speak a normal language. It is not a good idea to have something called “End of life issues” in a health care bill. It invites people to speculate. It is a fact that most American don’t have a Health Care Power of Attorney. So make one and you won’t even see those guy’s. All this is, it’s a group of professionals helping with the issue if a loved one is in a serious state of “Disrepair”. There is no cost issue involved just the medical facts. Like if the person is in a mentally and physical state which requires 24/7 care with no hope of recovery. (Gun shot to the head and half the brain missing per example). WE could argue God intended that person to be dead, he/she would be if it wasn’t for our intervention. Who is right?

There is one troubling and not very clear aspect in this bill. It looks like if you don’t have any insurance you MUST take the public option. And once on it, you can’t leave. On the other hand, that might just be written in legaleese and so confusing that we might have a few lawsuits making lots of money for the attorneys, which of course are the ones who have written this bill in the first place.

Why can’t the just write a bill like this:

We will establish small fully staffed health clinic in every county were you can go and have your cuts and bruises taken care off. To fund this projects we will charge 10 dollars a month to every adult in America and a 5 dollar co pay at the time of service. By participating and being up to date with your contribution, any prescribed medication will be available in generic form for 3 dollars. Otherwise your medication co pay will be 5 dollars. Of Course this insurance will also pay for major illnesses and accidents.

Of course something as clear as this can’t be written, its way to simple

Healthcare debacle

And now health care reform. Well I actually read it. Half of it refers back to other regulations and as usual its legalese. It seams that nobody in Washington can write in plain English. And yes provisions are made for end of life care and funding for planed parenthood, i.e abortion clinics. Don’t get me wrong I am NOT in favor of abortions. However I am in favor of letting everybody decide for themselves. Just like guns, I don’t have one, never will. But I will stand right beside you for YOUR right to have one. I might question you why do you need an Uzi to go hunting, but that’s your business. I have a little insight into the National health care debacle.

In the 70’s I lived in London England a National health care country. I worked at all places for AMI, American Medical International the owners of the Harley Street Clinic and princess Grace Hospital and some more “up country” all off them private Hospitals. They did a thriving business, taking on the “cast offs” from the national health care service. At that time a arthroscopic knee operation was about 1200 sterling. With a waiting list of 18 month. Of course you could not work during that time. So you were relying on welfare to keep you afloat. It was the bare minimum. So the Marketing dept of AMI offered the operation on a payment term starting one week after you went back to work, instead of a long waiting period. In the 70’s there was no other health insurance available. I remember at that time we had a lot of problems with far eastern people arriving at the airport passing through costumes and immigration and falling on their face in the airport with major illnesses like cancer etc. those people didn’t even had to book a hotel room and were carted of to a hospital. A waiting list was created because of instances like that. Under a National Health Care system emergency medical help will ALWAYS be applied. Accident or emergency medical help is always taken care off. And if a bed is available you will be admitted, thus moving “selective” surgery down the list. National health care will NOT remove the backlog in the ER, most likely increase it, because sometimes that’s the only way to get a bed. Does America need a NHC? No anyway we have one already, Medicare and Medicaid fix that first by putting ALL federal employees including congress and the senate on it

They will fix it then

Here we go again

Human nature is something else. We are all different and we make totally different t decisions every day. Some we regret some we just live with and some we even can reverse sometimes. I have made plenty I regret most I can not redo ever. Some I work on to rectify now. Some 20 years ago in my “middle age” I started a business big time under funded as usual for a start up adventure. It was way more successful then I or anyone else anticipated. So money was quick becoming an issue. Meeting payroll that is. And of course collections. I sometimes needed to use money from my personal account to supplement the payroll account. Which got me in trouble a few times, meaning that action resulted in bounced checks on my personal account. Which I took care of most of the time however sometimes it took me all the way to a magistrate office to be reminded to take care of it..

All this took part in the Mid 80’s No big deal I thought, all taken care off. Some checks were like for $3.85 in the end costing me over $50.00. During the second term of the Reagan administration the Amnesty Bill was introduced and both my wife and I applied. My application was denied on the grounds that I had 3 or more misdemeanors on my record, regardless of their disposition. So I got myself an attorney who for one reason or another got me a pardon and expunge of some of them. And appealed the decision. I am aware of the appeal however for some reason unknown to me I was not aware of the outcome. Next thing I remember is getting a Voter registration card in the mail. Thank you whoever.

Fast Forward to 2008

After an accident in 2004 and 4 years of treatment I was finally declared to be disabled.

Filling out the paperwork for disability was not that easy and of course the social security administration denied the claim at first. So I appealed and won. Cool. Right? Well when it came to calculating my benefit we run into a little snag. It seemed that my legal status was sort off “pending” which translated into me not getting ANY benefits. So I instigated to receive a request of all my paperwork relation to my immigration status under FOI. Easy enough right you read that newspaper always get whatt they need and rather quickly before the story gets cold. Apparently in my case there is no story so FOI took their sweet time to find the 107 pages relating to my case some 18 month actually. I requested it to be send to me on CD just to save a tree or 2 and make it easier to duplicate. Well I got pages some even blank with nothing on it. So now I am back to square one. I need to find an attorney who will first of all remove the rest of the misdemeanors from my record. Then reapply for residency. Remuneration? A share of the 21,000.00 the Social Security Administration owes me in back pay as of right now. Any Takers?

The Origin of Man?

The Origin of Man

All this argument about evolution vs intelligent design has good points on both sides. However the go hand in hand on many points. Both sides are so entrenched in their own theory that they are not able to look over the fence so to speak and look at the common points objectively. Humankind today is more advanced then ever. We have tools available today where we can “Create life”. We also know that in ancient times things were “created” which by all scientific evidence were not possible to create in those days. Nevertheless we have artifacts from earlier periods which we can “place” to that timeframe. I am not just talking about the perfect blocks weighing many tons at the pyramids. Or the integrated detailed artifacts from South America. Or the mountain sculptures which can only be seen from miles up in the sky. Everything even in religion points to the heavens. To “God”?

Just for the sake of arguments let’s assume this scenario. Lets assume there are “Gods” all Gods reside in heaven, that’s a given. Today we know that the heaven is a vast collection of stars and most of them have planets. I am a firm believer that we are NOT alone. So is it not possible that we are somehow n related to a species from a different planet or galaxy even?

Some space traveler encountered earth in it primitive state. The closest life form to them by statue might have been our own ape. So let’s further assume those “gods” were scientist the liked the planet earth and they decided to use this planet as a laboratory. Is it so hard to assume that someone else might have made genetic experiments some 100 million years ago? All that would explain a lot of things. Things like why we can find skeletons dating further back then “eve” the Pygmalion woman in Africa. Then there are the Neanderthal the Mongoliths and other unspecified apelike creatures. But all of them recent (as far as earth history is concerned) nothing like 65 million years old. Homosapien just “decided” to walk on 2 legs. Not just a single branch but multiple species and guess what….the most perfect one (species) survived. Evolution? I don’t think so. As a scientist you want to create something which has the stamina intellect and power to survive. So why not Eve? Probably a first attempt she turned out to small and frail. There were probably more then one. This one escaped from whatever lab there was. Neanderthal man a lot bigger and bulkier a good start perhaps. Maybe they created 3 or four generations still confined to see if the brain and intellect would catch up beyond surviving skills. Let’s assume further that the “breeding” of neandethatlers was running sort of smooth. Until one day a group decided the look what’s outside the confined area, staged a revolt and left the area. This by that time was not heavily staffed. By the time help arrived, the escapees were nowhere to be found. They made it so far north that it took their “creator’s years to follow their trail to capture the majority, leaving just a few behind still thinking they got them all. Hence the reason for just a few specimen. We find thousands of specimens from other life forms all the time. Even the tiniest ones from 65 million years ago. We can follow their evolutionary linage all the way to the murky waters of the primal ocean. Except Human. We just “Appeared” did e “gods” created us? Probably but not like religion tells us. That’s very unlikely. But it is a good and simple way to explain a lot of things. God (s) made us in their image? Probably. Where there others experimenting? Most likely. Size doesn’t always have the advantage there were larger species of humanoids on this planet during the “formative” years. The bible tells of Giants walking among us up to 3 times our size. Nothing says were the come from except that they were messengers from God. Angels so to speak. Remember Christ went to heaven in a fiery carriage, a Space vehicle maybe? Imagine 2000 years ago and you are in ancient Jerusalem, riding around town in a Harley Davidson. You have never seen one before. Now try to describe it but so that your fellow man can picture it. Good luck

Of course this is not scientific…smiles just something to think about

A look at Immigration Reform

Do we need Immigration Reform? it seem to be the hot topic this year. I can tell were we need reform, and it is not Immigration as such. For starters we need to stop generalizing. In my humble opinion the Immigration issue is still very much a racial issue. We are trying so hard to be political correct that we end up doing nothing, because we might offend somebody. Explain me something and I am serious. Why is it when you go into a federal or state building the only other language you see posted is Spanish? don''t say because the majority of immigrants is Hispanic. That might be true, however that should NEVER be the reason. In my neck of the woods there are just as many Germans due to BMW manufacturing, however you will see nothing posted in German. Anyway the reform should be in how to handle and proceed with Immigrations applications After they have been filed. Filing means you want to become a useful citizen of this country. Establish a Home here and participate in the life and lifestyle of common folks. This is the greatest country in the world after all or is it? (YES it is!!!) In America you can basically do what you want so long as it doesn't interfere or harm someone else, right? You can disappear if you like, or even be forgotten. like with the INS an Application from the Reagan years some 18 years ago has still not been resolved. Originally it had been denied for some really screwed up reason. Then those were straighten out and the decision appealed. The Case is "pending" since 1991. Can you imagine what would happen with another 12 million cases? give you another excample. The person in question requested with a FOI request to get copies of all documents relating to HIS case and relating to INS documentation. The Reply was " this will take up to 18 month" bearing in mind that the request was made for delivery in electronic form which should be readily available with a few key strokes this time line is totally un acceptable by any standard. because you and I know that Law enforcement would have everything available within 24 hours ifg he would commit a major crime. Do we need an Immigration Reform? No we don't but we need to reform the process and maybe stop wasting time discussing it

Another Big Deal On the job injuries

There are Same out there faking it I'm sure. This blog is not about that at all. All states have different WC Laws but all of them have the same underlying message. If you get hurt on the job your job should be secure and regardless who's fault it was unless you tried to comit surcide there should be NO financial disadvantage for you. So your weekly compensation is about what you normally would take home. and they say it is tax free. Fair enough. Or is it?
imagine this. You are injured the treatment and recuperation takes years. You get your pay every week. 4 years later the tell you that's it you will never be working again
they give you a settlement which you use to mostly pay of bills which they didn't paid because believe it or not work on your house you could normally go yourself you have to get them done by someone else now. The job you got injured on was the best you ever had, great money. I would be a Boost to your SSA account even over the last 4 years but then you find out that while you were on WC no contributions were made at all
how is that of Not being disadvantaged?

There is something else which is in Most WC statues a little phrase which most of us don''t even understand. "Random Act of Violence."
basically what this means to all you Criminals out there. If you rob a convenience store and beat up the clerk please tell the police you have been staking out the place. Because if you don't the poor clerk will have to pay his own hospital bills he is NOT covered by workers Comp against Random acts of violence. So just walking in the place because it was handy and shooting him in the knee will not do. by you casing out the joint it isn't "Random" anymore.
